I am Hidatsa, Arikara, and Mandan, enrolled in the MHA Nation (Three Affiliated Tribes), born in North Dakota and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My heart is for the indigenous of the Americas.
I wrote a novel as a creative thesis on the effects of historical trauma and suicide among American Indian youth while researching creativity as a counterbalance to suicidal tendencies. I am currently seeking representation for my novel while starting work on a second story.
NDN Lit is a newsletter devoted to championing indigenous creatives by sharing and showcasing their work, be it literary or otherwise, to as wide an audience as possible.
Each issue features links to articles, books, or interesting news focused on indigenous literature and culture. It is my desire to cultivate a host of informational and creative offerings that will help people discover indigenous creatives as well as inspire those who are in the midst of their own work.
